No team had more to loose last night than Argentina as it faced off against Uruguay, in Montevideo, Uruguay. Win and they’re in. Loose and most likely they were out (as well as the end for their most famous coach). As you can see from the picture, they came up big and coach Maradona is seen once again as the savior of Argentina. I watched the game in my apartment and as soon as they scored the entire building started to shake. Throughout the entire game I was wondering if anyone was watching because I didn’t hear a peep. But in the 83rd minute, as soon as Argentina scored, it was like a bomb went off. People were screaming, dogs were barking and babies were crying. It was awesome. After a few minutes of yelling GOALLLL, I switched it up and started yelling “let’s go Buffalo!” and for some reason the noise stopped. I’m still learning the celebration songs…
“After a tortuous campaign involving many a setback, Argentina made sure of their place at South Africa 2010 with a deserved 1-0 victory at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo. No one was more relieved about that than coach Diego Maradona. After telling FIFA in an interview earlier in the year that the FIFA World Cup would not be the FIFA World Cup without Argentina, the Albiceleste legend can finally rest easy.” – FIFA
The goal…
I’m so pumped to be here for the build up to the World Cup. Tune-in this July for all the football in Argentina debauchery.
