It’s 6:30am and the DJ is just starting to get into his rhythm as the 300 plus music-induced-party-goers of Club Niceto rage into the morning. Joints are passed around like ketchup at a picnic and the tranced mob seem to move in unison to the beat. The bass thumps through your entire body as time becomes irrelevant. I’d say it was a pretty good night/morning…
My saturday started out pretty calm actually, I had some beers with Sergio at a local pool hall and then met up with Mariangela for an amazing dinner near our apartment. It was a small place hidden from the tourist eye that served traditional parrilla (grill/BBQ). Everything was family style, so you just pick the meat and any side dishes you wanted. We had steak, chorizo and my new absolute favorite… Mollejas (cow throat/sweetbread). The three of us left stuffed and the bill cost less than $90 pesos (around U$S 30).
We finished dinner at about 12:30am and I came home to get ready to go out by 1:30. When I got to the club there was a huge line wrapped around the building. Luckily, I a friend came out and sweet talked the bouncer into letting me right in. I was able to skip the line but not the $30 peso cover charge. The club was pretty crowded but nowhere near as busy as it would get later (4-8am).
On Saturday, Niceto hosted the 3rd anniversary party for the ZZK Club, which from what I understand is part of a record label ZZK Records. They brought in some amazing performers including a drum band called Tremor, rappers from Mendoza, Argentina called Fauna and Uproot Andy, a sick DJ from Brooklyn, NY actually.
I ended up pulling the shoot at about 8am. Well before most people at the party. The night was amazing, the vibe was electric, the bands were insane and the morning sunshine was all too bright!

Why not party in the morning, too? Any time is a good time if you don’t have to go to work.
