I was for fortunate enough to study abroad in London, UK my Junior year of University. It was my first international experience, and ultimately sparked me to start this travel blog years later.

Any opportunity that I have to promote studying abroad, or inspire others to study abroad – I am all about it!

This is why I am happy to announce that my Travel insurance partner, Allianz Global Assistance USA, has launched its thirteenth annual scholarship contest for students who want to study or volunteer abroad.

The “ScholarTrips” contest provides grants to students who want to participate in international travel programs.

Just like my experience Studying Abroad back in 2004, Allianz believes that experiencing new cultures is critical to a student’s development, and promote meaningful global exchanges.

This year’s contest asks the question; “What is your dream travel experience and who is your ideal travel companion and where would you go?”

Students over the age of 14 are encouraged to showcase their creativity while answering the question. Entries can be submitted in either an essay or a video.

Students entering the contest will be eligible to win one of six first-place $2,500 scholarships, ten second-place $1,000 scholarships or 25 third-place $500 scholarships.

“We believe in supporting student programs that promote travel, cultural understanding and personal growth,” said Joe Mason, Chief Marketing Officer of the Americas Region at Allianz Worldwide Partners. “ScholarTrips can help students enrich their lives through these experiences and make travel dreams a reality.

The ScholarTrips Contest will run October 6h through November 6th. All winning entries will be featured on the ScholarTrips website. Full details can be found at scholartrips.org. Winners will be announced on or about December 20th.

Allianz has been a T2T Partner for almost one year now, and this is exactly why. As you can see from this blog and across my social media, I choose my partnerships wisely. It is companies and initiatives like this that make me proud to be in this industry.

I truly believe that travel, and Study Abroad Programs in particular, will help bring this world closer together – through experience, communication and understanding.
