Disney World and the beaches aren't the only attractions in Florida!

Disney World and Universal Studios Resort might be some of Florida’s main attractions, but some of the state’s hidden gems are just as worthy of exploration. P.S. Don’t forget about your accommodation! For some great ideas check out the range of villas in Florida with Florida4Less!

Jules’ Undersea Lodge, Key Largo

Ever swum to your hotel room in scuba gear? That’s exactly what guests at Jules’ Undersea Lodge do – the lodge is submerged 30 feet under Key Largo’s Emerald Lagoon, allowing visitors a window view of the sealife while they relax in their rooms.

Titanic: The Experience, Orlando

2012 marks the hundred-year anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, and what better way to learn more about one of history’s most famous disasters than to explore this exhibition, which uses storytellers in period costume and hundreds of artefacts from the ship itself to bring the story to life.

 A Ghostly Experience, St Augustine

One of Florida’s favourite ghost tours, this nightly guided walk around St Augustine fills you in on the hair-raising history of the city – including a ghostly judge who walks the cemetery and a pair of haunted inns. There is also a bus tour available on the Trolley of the Doomed.

Dinosaur World, Plant City

The world’s biggest dinosaur attraction is in Plant City, and it’s got more than 150 prehistoric beasts lovingly rendered in fiberglass. Go on a fossil dig, take lunch in the caves or simply wander the park taking in the Brachiosaurus, Triceratops, Spinosaurus, T Rex and many more.

Gatorland, Orlando

While real live ‘gators are undoubtedly the main attraction at this 110-acre theme park, there’s much more to do besides: zip lines, an aviary and even a mini-train that gives a complete tour of the park. Be sure not to miss the rare white alligators in their enclosure, a recent addition to Gatorland.
