[UPDATED POST] One of my favorite aspects of traveling and writing this blog has been the opportunity I’ve had to meet like-minded entrepreneurs from all over Latin America.
The ability to leverage this site to make connections and build relationships is such a major part of why I continue.
Most recently, I was fortunate enough to spend time with the people behind Pantanal Discovery, a local tour company that I took into the wetlands.
One afternoon between fishing for piranha and canoeing with otters, Bruno, the property manager, invited me to go see a new project that they were working on down river.
This is what the property looked like when I visited (April 2014)…
The site he showed me was home to the first ever hotel in this region of the Pantanal, and their goal is to renovate the entire thing.
It looked like a ton of work, yet Bruno explained everything with such passion and vision that I had a hard time not believing him.
A few weeks ago, I received an email from Gil and everyone at Pantanal Discovery and they told me that the brand new Pantanal Jungle Lodge was now open for business!!
Here is what the Lodge looks like today (July 2015)!
Pantanal Jungle Lodge in Pantanal, Brazil
The pool and rooms look amazing, right in the middle of the world’s largest wetlands!
I can’t wait to get there and experience the Pantanal again, from inside the Pantanal Jungle Lodge. Hopefully next time I’ll spot a few jaguars!
Contact Gil at Pantanal Discovery for more information!

Hi!
If you like traveling, shoot a video from one place you travel to and send to this contest: http://en.millionyou.com/lot
You will be able to win some flight tickets 🙂
But the Pantanal is not in a Jungle!
