Saying Goodbye

Moving is tough. Saying goodbye to your friends and family is even tougher. I’ve done it a lot over the last few weeks. I think the key to it all is to have a plan for the future. Something to look forward to. A return date is always great because then you have something concrete to shoot for. For me, it’s one of my best friend’s wedding in Early September 2010 back in Buffalo.

Saying goodbye for good though is even tougher. Like breaking up with a girlfriend or ripping off a band-aid, you just have to do it fast and move on. Last month I said goodbye to a loyal friend and my personal chariot – The Nugget (AKA Le Nugget). She was a beautiful 2002 Gold Hyundai Accent with lots of dimples and some elegant rust colored features. In order to fund this trip I had to sell her and all of her beauty to my old roommate in San Diego. She will be missed.

Here she is playing in the snow! She loved Buffalo.
