For those who are fortunate to live within Europe, they are lucky enough that as many of the countries are so close together, they are able to break the monotony of a working week and enjoy long weekend in one of the many historical and beautiful cities mainland Europe has to offer.

Europe offers a host of desirable opportunities when it comes to weekend excursions. Natural beauty, historical edifices, cultural learning’s and many other facets make Europe’s cities an ideal place for that long weekend.

London

From the Buckingham Palace to Hyde Park, London is Europe’s perfect weekend getaway.  To really paint the town with the British swagger, look into short stay apartments London to make yourself feel at home while exploring the Queen’s city. When searching for apartments for your long weekend, you’ll definitely want serviced apartments so you don’t have to worry about a thing. From your own pad you can go explore the street markets of Camden or Portobello and have a pint at a local pub and enjoy some footy.

Paris

A beautiful, must see city for those who appreciate art and fine food in particular, which is often referred to as the ‘city of love’. Where you can go up the Eiffel tower where the view of Paris is literally BREATH-TAKING or maybe visit the paintings, sculptures and artifacts on display in the Louvre Museum. If you are lucky enough to go to Paris when the weather is nice maybe visit Luxembourg to read, relax or sunbathe, there is also plenty of activities for the children to do.

Ireland

Well known for the shamrocks, shillelaghs, leprechauns and let’s not forget Guinness, but Ireland shouldn’t be forgotten about, with plenty of historical places to visit such as Falls Road Republican Murals where you’ll see the murals, as well as the memorials for the people who died during the conflicts.

Rome

With every corner you turn you’re surrounded by the past from the Colosseum which was originally known as the Flavian Amphitheater to the Pantheon. With the city bursting to the brim with historical places to visit and plenty to see, arm yourself with a lengthy itinerary and you won’t be disappointed, you may be a little tired but the food and wine will make everything worth it.
