Sunset at Arpoador in Rio de Janeiro

Table of Contents

Arpoador is a rocky peninsula located at the east end of Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro.

It’s one of the best places in the city to experience the beautiful Brazilian sunset and it’s the perfect way to finish a day at the beach or shopping in Ipanema.

The sun sets behind the famous Dois Irmãos cliffs at the end of Leblon beach while boats and surfers dot the golden water.

Both tourists and locals alike bring snacks and drinks and spread out along the rocks between 5pm and 8pm every night.

It’s very romantic and there’s usually enough room to set up a lovely picnic if you’re with that special someone. Maybe some day I’ll do that…

Until then, I’ll just take photos…
