OVERVIEW:

So, I’ve been told over the past 3 weeks that I could easily pass for an Argentine man. Other than my height, I have the look down. My hair is getting long (because I’m not ready for a barbershop conversation in Spanish) and I shave about once a week. Also, I ware pretty neutral jeans and t-shirts when I’m out and about to blend in. This has been a gift and a curse. I don’t get any funny looks on the Subte or walking down the street but, I get a lot of people asking me questions and for directions. I feel bad because as soon as I open my mouth they realize asking me anything was a bad idea and they usually walk away more confused than when they started.

My Spanish is coming slowly but surely and that is definitely going to be the biggest hurtle to climb if I want to get involved more in the culture and with the people.
