I’ve never been to Mars but I’d imagine it looks a lot like the Arches National Park just outside Moab, Utah. It is known for preserving over 2000 natural sandstone arches, including the famous, Delicate Arch.
I invite you to take a visual stroll around Arches National Park with photos from my most recent visit…
The Arches National Park lies atop an underground evaporite layer or salt bed, which is the main cause of the formation of the arches, spires, balanced rocks, sandstone fins, and eroded monoliths in the area. Also, Arches National Park only receives an average of 10 inches of rainfall a year, which helps maintain these funky, mars-like shapes everywhere.

I can’t wait to be here myself in a few weeks!
You’ll have a blast Amanda, there is so much to do and see!
Great shots. I went here about 5 years ago and loved it. Such an amazing park and I still wonder how the hell the delicate arch has not fallen yet. It looks like its about to from up close.

Right! There are people climbing all over it and that thing doesn’t budge… one of these days.
Cool photos! I hope to see this for myself one day.

You better hurry before it all collapses.
These are gorgeous shots – actually the 2nd post I’ve read about here this week. I especially liked this one: View of the Delicate Arch through Frame Arch
This reminds me of Arizona’s Red Rock State Park in Sedona. I will definitely have to check out Arches National Park
