Stansted, Luton, Birmingham, Heathrow, Glasgow, Manchester, East Midlands… the list goes on. Yes, I’m taking airports. Love them or hate them, it’s these rather large, sprawling buildings that get us on our annual summer holidays, so really, they’re a necessary evil.

I used to detest airports, however I’ve come around to the positives in the situation – i.e. duty free shopping. The other thing I used to detest was getting from my house to my airport, because it always involved a huge amount of stress, tears, tantrums, money and the feeling of an oncoming migraine.

You’ll notice I spoke in the past tense, because I no longer detest it quite so much. Of course, it’s not as much fun as lazing on a beach, but getting from the house to wherever I’m flying from is what gets me to the beach, so it can’t be all that bad.

Why this sudden change?

I discovered a simple service that turned it all around. Yes, I’m talking about airport parking.

Airport taxis are expensive, stressful and especially if you have small children, it’s not the most chilled-out of experiences, starting from not only loading up the bags, but getting your little darlings into the taxi, strapped in and calmed down. All in all, it’s a recipe for pain and stress.

Travelling from home in your own car however, has none of the above, and comes with the added bonus of money saved, meaning more Euros to spend on holiday!

The first time I tried parking at Stansted Airport, I couldn’t believe the price I got, and after using the service, I was even more gobsmacked, as I couldn’t believe I’d been missing out for so long. Nowadays, I rarely travel without booking airport parking.

Most large airports offer a service, including the more regional ones, Holiday Extras offer Luton Airport parking at great rates so check them out. Trains, coaches and taxis are expensive, and although you’ll be using your own petrol, you’ll always save more than you would have spent, and your stress levels will remain even and calm.

So the next time you book a jolly away to the sun, or even a winter break away to the snow, be sure to check out the facilities available from where you’re flying from, with a great range available. You won’t be disappointed and you’ll probably find yourself a convert for life!
